WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR GRANTS?
Grants may be submitted by faculty, staff, students, and patrons of Shawnee Mission East High School.
WHAT IS THE FUNDING CRITERIA?

Grants must substantially improve or enhance at least one of the following: Professional Development, Classroom Programs, and/or Technology.

Minimum Grant Request is $500.

Projects should benefit the largest number of students and staff possible.

Multi-year funding will be considered only if such funding is necessary for the project's viability.
*Note: The East Fund will not fund programs, projects, or materials that are included in the district school budget, or teacher's salaries.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR APPLICATION?
Once the Grant Application is received, it is reviewed by our Grants Committee consisting of eight SME parents and one faculty member. The committee evaluates every proposed grant with a rubric. If the proposed grant satisfies the rubric, the Chairperson brings the grant to The East Fund Board where it is discussed and voted upon. If approved, the grant is then submitted to the SMSD Board for final approval.
